Chronic fatigue, burnout
Burnout is understood as a state of physical and mental exhaustion that has arisen in response to emotional overstrain when working with people. It is especially susceptible to people whose work activity is associated with regular communication with other people, emotional empathy, great responsibility, workers with a profession such as "man - man", since they are the ones who are subject to constant interaction and communication with people. Burnout is also understood as a professional crisis associated not only with interpersonal relationships, but also with work in general.
The development of this state is facilitated by the need to work in a monotonous or intense rhythm, with an emotional load when interacting with a difficult contingent. This is also facilitated by the lack of proper remuneration (not only material, but also psychological) for the work performed, which makes a person think that his work has no value.
Such a state develops in people who are prone to sympathy, an idealistic attitude to work, at the same time unstable, prone to dreams, obsessed with obsessive ideas. At the same time, the syndrome of emotional burnout can be a psychological defense mechanism in the form of partial or complete exclusion of emotions in response to traumatic effects.
A separate study requires the factor of the influence of alcohol abuse on the dynamics of the development of the syndrome of emotional burnout.
It is also often found in people whose work is associated with close contact with people - doctors, psychologists, teachers, people whose profession belongs to the "helping" type of profession, social workers, operators working in the "man-machine" field, managers , managers, etc.
According to the observations of psychotherapists, introverts are especially prone to burnout. People with this psychotype are advised to carefully dose the level of communication, avoid excessive exposure to current news and take other measures that limit the load on the emotional sphere.
